Heviz is the second largest hot-water lake in the world. It creates its own attractive microclimate. The medicinal mud at the bottom of the lake has special properties; it is first-rate for treating patients with disorders of the limbs, rheumatism, inflammations and arthritic complaints. People have been using this lake, covered with Indian red water-lilies, since 1795 for both bathing and drinking cures.
